Several people were seriously injured Monday afternoon when the vehicles they were driving in were involved in a head-on crash in Mahoning Township. The crash occurred just after 3 p.m. along Route 443 directly in front of the former Mahoning Farmers Market. Both cars came to rest facing west in the east bound lanes. Mahoning Valley firefighters utilized rescue tools to extricate one of the victims. One victim was treated at the scene by Lehighton paramedics before being transported to the Jake Arner Memorial Airport where they were taken by LifeFlight 6 to an area hospital.
