Eldred Township supervisors receive first park plans

Eldred Township has received a preliminary design of its park between the Eldred Township Community Center and the municipal building.

Supervisor Susan McGinty announced at the board’s meeting on Nov. 19 that Woodland Design Associates Inc. in Honesdale has submitted a design suggestion. The park includes a walking path, pickle ball courts and a pavilion.

“What’s here is not set in stone,” McGinty said.

Copies of the plan are available in the office.

McGinty said the supervisors plan to have a public meeting with the designer, the Parks and Recreation Committee, and the public to discuss the design, but a date has not been set yet.

“I just wanted to share what we have already,” she said.

Plans to redesign the park have been discussed for several years, with members of the parks committee submitting ideas, as well as residents.

The supervisors decided to get the input of a professional designer to pursue grant funding for the project.
