Tamaqua Seniors
The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on Nov. 20 with 28 members present.
President Jean Machamer opened the meeting with the invocation “A Touch of Christmas” read by a member.
Three members were added to the sick list.
The group’s Christmas dinner was held. Members said food from Hess Catering of Schuylkill Haven was delicious.
On Dec. 11, a brown bag lunch will be held. Also Dec. 11, gifts will be exchanged. If the weather is poor, the gift exchange will be postponed until Dec. 18.
The meeting closed and bingo and cards were played. There was no meeting Thursday (Thanksgiving Day).
The group’s next meeting will be at 1 p.m. Dec. 4 at the Coaldale Complex.
Calvary Lewistown
Pastor Deb will bring the message at the 11 a.m. Sunday service at Calvary Evangelical Church in Lewistown Valley. Special music will be provided along with singing of hymns giving praise to our creator. Sunday school for all ages is at 9:45 a.m. There will be a 6:30 p.m. Sunday service of praise.
The praise and prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Zion Lewistown
Pastor Jim Williams will officiate the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Zion Church in Lewistown Valley. Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m.
St. Peter’s – West Penn
The 9 a.m. Sunday worship service at St. Peter’s Church in West Penn will mark the first Sunday in Advent. Adult Sunday school is at 10:15 a.m. and Christmas poinsettia orders are due.
On Thursday, the Cherub and Bell choirs rehearse at 6 p.m., and the Senior Choir rehearses at 7 p.m.
