State police at Lehighton - crashes

State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following crashes:

• No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 12:17 p.m. Nov. 4 on White Street in Bowmanstown.

Police said the crash occurred as a 17-year-old girl from Lehighton was driving a 2008 Ford Focus northbound when she attempted to pass a 2022 Kia Sportage operated by Gary R. Miller, 69, of Lehighton, when he slowed down to make a turn into a parking lot.

Police said the Focus hit the Sportage, resulting in the Focus having functional damage and the Sportage having disabling damage; it was towed from the scene.

• Police said Charles W. Mann IV, 30, of Kunkletown, was uninjured when the car he was driving struck a deer at 6:10 a.m. Nov. 7 on Interchange Road in Polk Township.

He was driving a 2019 Honda Accord when the deer entered his lane of travel and the car struck it, police said.

The Honda had disabling damage and was towed from the scene.

• No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 2:35 p.m. Nov. 15 on Jonas Road in Polk Township.

Police said the crash occurred when Diane J. Brancato, 65, of Albrightsville, was driving a 2020 Hyundai Elantra westbound and was following too closely behind a 2020 Hyundai Tucson operated by Joan M. Farrell, 65, of Kunkletown.

They said a deer entered the roadway in front of the Tucson, at which time Farrell slowed and her vehicle was struck by the Elantra.

Police said both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Brancato complained of knee pain but refused a medical services transport from the scene, police said.

She was issued a written warning for following too closely, according to police.
