Tamaqua police charged Samantha McFadden, 20, of Madison Township, Lackawanna County, with simple assault and possession of drug paraphernalia following a Nov. 16 incident in Coaldale.

According to police, officers were called to the unit block of West Ridge Street by a man who said that he and McFadden had an argument. Police asked why he had tissues stuffed into his nose and cuts on his face, and he said that McFadden had struck him the day before during an argument that was not reported.

Police took McFadden into custody for simple assault. She also had a glass smoking pipe in her backpack and faces drug-related charges, police said.
