November 25, 1981 — Jim Thorpe enjoys an impressive night from the floor in its season opener to propel the Olympians to a 51-46 victory over Northwest. Thorpe connects on 21-of-35 shots for 60 percent. Bill Keegan leads the way for the winners, hitting for a game-high 23 points. Brian Dyer adds 12 points and seven rebounds. Thorpe holds a slim three-point lead near the end of the third quarter but it tallies the first eight points of the fourth to take a double-digit advantage. The Olympians also receive eight points from Butch Reabold and six from Scott Kmetz.
