Carbon First Responders fund awards $60,000
Four first responder agencies serving Kidder Township were awarded a total of $60,000 in grants during the Nov. 20 Kidder Township board of supervisors meeting. The grants — $15,000 to each agency — were distributed from the Kidder Township First Responders Fund at the Carbon County Community Foundation.
The Kidder Township First Responders Fund was established by Blue Ridge Real Estate Co., which brought together the four agencies to launch the initiative and has continued to lead fundraising efforts. The entire $60,000 awarded this year was raised during the annual First Responders Golf Tournament, held in September at Jack Frost National Golf Course. Planning is already underway for next year’s tournament scheduled for Sept. 14, 2026, at Jack Frost National. Community members are encouraged to save the date.
The following agencies each received a $15,000 grant:
• Albrightsville Volunteer Fire Company;
• Lake Harmony Volunteer Fire Company;
• Lake Harmony Volunteer Rescue Squad and Ambulance, and;
• Kidder Township Police Department.
“These agencies are the backbone of safety in Kidder Township,” said Sharon Alexander, president of the Carbon County Community Foundation. “This year’s grants are a direct result of the community coming together — neighbors, businesses, and partners like Blue Ridge Real Estate Company — who stepped up to support our first responders. We are proud to help ensure these agencies have the resources they need to serve and protect our township.”
