State police at Fern Ridge - crashes

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported the following crashes:

• De Sola A. Alejandro, 18, of Biscayne, Florida, was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash at 1:35 p.m. Nov. 9 on Interstate 80 in Kidder Township.

Police said he was driving a 2020 Alfa Romeo east and was traveling too fast for rainy conditions when he lost control of the vehicle. It struck a guide rail on the left shoulder of the road. The Alfa Romeo was towed from the scene.

Alejandro was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed, according to police.

• Connor J. Makara, 22, of Kunkletown, was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash at 3:36 a.m. Nov. 9 on Astolat Road in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said he was driving a 2020 Subaru Outback west that left the road and struck a utility pole on the right shoulder. Police said the pole was knocked down and the vehicle came to rest off the west shoulder on the pole. It was towed from the scene.

• Michele L. Nichols, 54, of Philipsburg, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after a one-vehicle crash at 10:55 p.m. Oct. 21 on Interstate 80 in Kidder Township, police said. She and a passenger were uninjured in the crash.

Police said she was driving a 2019 Toyota Corolla eastbound when it exited its lane of travel and hit a guide rail.

• No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 8:46 p.m. Oct. 31 on Route 209 in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said Carol K. Viscontio, 61, of Kunkletown, was driving a 2009 Mercedes-Benz that struck the rear of a 2013 Subaru Forester operated by Darice L. Asbee, 29, of Effort, which was stopped for a red light.

Police said both vehicles were towed from the scene.
