SS Peter and Paul

S.S. Peter and Paul Church, 260 N. Third St., Lehighton, welcomes everyone to Masses at 4 p.m. Saturday and 7:45 and 10 a.m. Sunday; as well as 8 a.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, or First Saturday.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession) is available 35 minutes before Masses on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, as well from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday.

The Blessed Sacrament is exposed for personal prayer from noon to 6 p.m. on Thursdays

Upcoming events:

• The Rev. Christopher Zelonis has been conducting “Foundations of Faith,” a twenty-video series on the Catechism of the Catholic Church at 6:30 p.m. every Wednesday. All are invited at any point in the series.

• Christmas wreaths by Foothill Farm in Lehighton (937 Mill Road) will be sold for $28 with a portion going to the parish. Pay for the wreaths at church and they will be available for pickup at the farm starting on Black Friday weekend.

• Catch the spirit of Christmas at SSPP’s Christmas Festival. Bid on dozens of baskets and enjoy some delicious food from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Dec. 6 and from 9 a.m. to noon on Dec. 7.

• Masses for the Patronal Feast for the United States of America, the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, will take place at 8 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 8.

• Our Lady of Guadalupe is the patroness of the Americas and the unborn. Mass for that day is at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 12. A fiesta follows the Mass in our parish hall.

• The Saint Vincent de Paul Society is hosting a Live Nativity from 4 to 6 p.m. on Dec. 20 at the Lehighton Amphitheater. A freewill offering will be taken to assist the Society in its mission to help the local needy. Baked goods will be available for purchase.

• SSPP Parishioners continue to make and serve bagged lunches for veterans from 8:30 a.m. to noon every fourth Wednesday at the American Legion building along Bridge Street. Any assistance with money or labor is most welcome: Call the rectory.

• Please remove any desired items from graves in our parish cemetery before Thanksgiving in anticipation of the annual pre-Christmas cleanup.

• Christmas Oplatki wafers will be available soon in the church or at the rectory.
