Jim Thorpe Area School District approved a series of personnel moves during its meeting Wednesday, including resignations, retirements, and club advisories:

• Accepted the resignation of Abigail Chinnici from her Penn Kidder Campus paraprofessional position, effective Sept. 29;

• Accepted the intent to retire from Frank Mertz, custodian at the Penn Kidder Campus, effective Dec. 31;

• Approved hiring Amy Evanish as Chess Club adviser at a salary of $1,060.40;

• Approved hiring AmyJoy Englehardt as a first-grade paraprofessional at Penn Kidder to replace Chinnici at $14 per hour;

• Approved hiring Joann Smyth as a substitute administrative assistant for the Penn Kidder building at $14 per hour;

• Approved hiring Paul Bobbit as a long-term substitute custodian at $15 per hour;

• Approved formation of the Penn Kidder Art Club with Donna Borst as adviser and $200 in start-up funds, and;

• Approved hiring Mary Vermillion as the Mathematics IRST Department Head with a stipend of $685, replacing Nora Oswald.
