Members of the Weatherly American Legion Auxiliary Unit 360 recently visited the Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center and delivered Christmas cards and birthday cards for the veterans at the facility.
Christmas cards will be distributed during the holidays to each veteran, and the birthday cards are put on the veteran’s breakfast tray on the day of their birthday.
Members of the Zions Lutheran Church from Weatherly also donated many personal hygiene items, shorts, T-shirts and miscellaneous items of new clothing to be shared with the veterans throughout the facility.
The church donated the items to Unit 360 requesting that they be delivered along with the card delivery.
