Letter to the editor: Headed for rebellious times

Sadly, with the increased civil unrest in our country, our nation may be facing rebellious times.

An indicator of this unrest is apparent with some who celebrate the killing of Charlie Kirk. Some in authority in our country are concerned that civil conflict could be on the horizon.

How many today ever thought we would witness the scope of this moral decay in our lifetime?

To some extent, the murder of Kirk presages the possibility of civil war and, worse yet, a religious persecution for defending a higher moral law.

Put simply, the cause is that many are not in conformity with God’s will.

As St Jure Colombiere, S.J. states in his book, “Trustful Surrender to Divine Providence, “Our sanctification is God’s aim in all His dealings with us. What He would not do for His own honor and our good if we would only let Him. The heavens make no resistance to the spirits that guide them, and their motion is magnificent, orderly, and useful; they declare aloud the glory of God and preserve order in the universe by their influence and the invariable succession of day and night.

If they resisted this guidance and instead of following the motion set for them, they followed a different one, they would soon fall into the utmost confusion and destroy the world.”

It is the same when the will of man is not guided by God’s will, but when guided by his own, he quickly falls into confusion and chaos.

God’s Mother Mary appeared in Fatima in 1917 to warn us of this danger, declaring that if we continue offending God, He would punish mankind with the errors of Russia.

With the rise communist/socialist politicians in our country, her message is more prevalent today than ever.
