Community supper
Zion Lutheran Church, Brodheadsville, is holding free community suppers for its drive-through supper program beginning at 5 p.m. today.
PVEN wish lists
The Pleasant Valley Ecumenical Network is planning Thanksgiving meals for the families it serves. Needed are turkeys and turkey breasts, gravy mixes, cranberry sauce, canned yams, cornbread mix, stuffing, and pancake mix and syrup.
Shelf-stable donations can be dropped of 24 hours a day in the teal bin outside the food pantry at 2334 Route 209, Sciota.
Perishable items can be dropped off from 8 to 11 a.m. Mondays and Fridays or at other times by appointment.

Other items PVEN needs: coats and lined hoodies for all ages and sizes; winter gloves for all ages and sizes; body wash, lotion and deodorant, blankets, sheets and towels. The Diaper Pantry also needs baby formula and baby food; adult pull-ups and bladder protection pads.
‘Ask the Deacon’
The Altar and Rosary November meeting at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church is at 6 p.m. today in the Cafe. The time is being dedicated to “Ask the Deacon.”

PV Bingo
PV Cheerleading second annual toy bingo will be held on Saturday in the Pleasant Valley Intermediate School cafeteria. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Games begin at noon.

Discover Advent
From 6 to 8 p.m. on Nov. 24, all parishioners of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church are invited to Discover Advent.
Open to all ages, it will take place in McCawley Hall and include dinner and discovering “the many customs and traditions” of the Catholic faith for the special season of Advent.
Cannoli sale
Zion Lutheran Church is accepting orders throughout November for 6-inch long cannoli, filled with Italian cannoli cream and mini-chocolate chips. Pickup is from noon to 3 p.m. on Dec. 6.

Gun club events
The Kunkletown Rod and Gun Club is holding its next block shoot and meat raffle beginning at 11 a.m. on Dec. 7 at 122 Gun Club Lane in Saylorsburg.
It is a 12-gauge shotgun only event. The public is welcome.

Grief support
The next meeting of the grief support group at the Western Pocono Community Library in Brodheadsville is set from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 10.

Medicare enrollment
The annual Medicare Open Enrollment continues until Dec. 7.
Counselors will help qualifying folks at the Chestnuthill Senior Center at Zion Lutheran Church on Route 209 in Brodheadsville. The counseling is free.

QV Christmas
Quiet Valley, Monroe County’s living historical farm, will host its Old Time Christmas on two weekends: Dec. 6 and 7, and Dec. 13 and 14.
Volunteers are needed for actors, singers, readers, guides and support personnel. Each shift will be about 3½ hours long.
The tours for visitors will run about every 15 minutes, from 2:30 to 7 p.m.
The event will feature seven different “stations” each day, ranging from the live nativity and caroling to Pennsylvania German traditions and Christmas Tales of Yore, to the Belsnickel visit, handcrafted gifts and tasty baked treats.
Volunteers also are needed for the cookie baking pre-event activity on Nov. 24.
