State police at Fern Ridge

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported the following incidents:

• Joseph Lopez, 67, of Albrightsville, is the victim of a theft by disposition of funds incident police were called on Patten Circle, Penn Forest Township, at 11:19 a.m. Oct. 6.

He told police that on July 14 he lost a check for $380 that was issued in his name, and it was determined someone found it and cashed it at an unknown location.

• Police said Alek Cramer, 30, of Saylorsburg, was charged with terroristic threats and harassment after police were called to an argument over child custody at 6:01 p.m. Oct. 28 at 374 Kennel Road, Chestnuthill Township.

Police said the victim is Molly Cramer, 30, of Kunkletown, who told police that during the course of the argument the man pushed her against a car and displayed a handgun, telling her he was going to shoot her.

• A 59-year-old woman from Reeders was “scammed” out of $3,500 in an incident police were called to at 4:06 p.m. Nov. 8 at Sky Hawk Trail, Jackson Township.

She told police someone posing as a PNC Bank representative committed the theft via fraud/forgery.

• A 71-year-old man from Stroudsburg is the victim of a theft by deception incident that police were called to at 11:46 a.m. Nov. 14 on Top Tree Terrace, Chestnuthill Township.

He told police he was $120 stolen from him in a deceptive cyberspace incident through PayPal.

The man said he responded to an unknown person on X (formerly Twitter) who identified herself as a young investor from Hong Kong. He said he talked to the woman for several days and also had a video call with her on the WhatsApp. Afterwards, the victim said he was requested to convert $120 from PayPal into PayPal cryptocurrency and send it to TRCoins.com. After completing the transaction, the man said he never heard from the woman again.

• Police were called to a retail theft (shoplifting) incident at the Onvo gas station, Route 534, East Side Borough, at 10:51 a.m. Nov. 12, resulting in the arrest of Mikal Arnett, 21, of White Haven.

They said he walked out of the business without paying for three large turkey sandwiches valued at a collective $21.
