State police at Bethlehem

State police at the Bethlehem barracks reported the following incidents:

• A 39-year-old woman from Germansville is the victim of a bitcoin scam/theft in which she lost $9,800.

Police are investigating the incident after having been called to Central Road, Heidelberg Township, at 2:30 p.m. Oct. 7.

• A 37-year-old woman from Slatington was charged with simple assault after police were called to a domestic-related disturbance at 9:30 p.m. Oct. 23 on Echo Road, North Whitehall Township.

Police said the victim is a 37-year-old man from Bath. They said the incident is a boyfriend-girlfriend matter in which the man sustained bodily injuries.

The woman was transported to the Lehigh County Prison, Allentown, for processing and arraignment.

• Police were called to Hill Road, Washington Township, at noon Aug. 15 to investigate a theft by deception case.

They said a victim sent a wire transfer in the amount of $26,358.62 to an unknown individual who the sender believed to be a building supply company. About 30 days after the transfer was completed, the person realized the wire transfer was fraud when the building supply company was again requesting payment.

• A 64-year-old woman from Danielsville is the victim of a criminal mischief incident police were called to at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 20 at the intersection of North Chestnut and Silk Mill streets, Bath.

Police said the mischief involved a window that was damaged. The estimated damage was $200.

• Daniel Mayer, 34, of New Tripoli, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after police said they stopped him following a 1½ mile chase at 12:52 a.m. Oct. 12 on Route 22 in Whitehall.

Police said they clocked Mayer as traveling in excess of 125 mph in a 2023 Toyota RAV4 in Hanover Township, after which the pursuit took place when the operator failed to stop despite being ordered to do so.

• John Yankauskas, 32, of Walnutport, and Shawn Dempsey, 39, of Allentown, are facing charges of receiving stolen property after police were called to 4039 Cherryville Road, Allen Township, at 8:18 a.m. Oct. 21.

Police said the victim is the PPL Corporation, Allentown.

They said the arrests came after they were summoned to investigate the theft of 1,500 pounds of decommissioned copper wire valued at $6,400.

A 2001 GMC Sierra was involved in the incident, police said.

• Police were called to a retail theft (shoplifting) incident at 12:45 p.m. Sept. 3 at the Dollar General Store, Church Street, Washington Township.

They said a white female stole $100 worth of miscellaneous groceries from the business.

• Police are investigating a burglary that occurred between Jan. 1 and Sept. 1 at a storage garage off Route 873, Washington Township.

The victims are a 59-year-old man, a 27-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman, all from Slatington.

The following items (with their values in parentheses) were reported stolen: a high-top dining room set with eight stools and a serving table ($5,500); 8,000 BTU ($250); a queen bed set ($1,000); Samsung 55-inch television ($650); Samsung 42-inch television ($350); a corner cabinet ($150); and dining room chairs ($50).

• A 22-year-old woman from Laurys Station is the victim of an indecent assault incident police were called to at 11 a.m. Oct. 17 at Kenco Logistics LLC, 175 Cesanek Road, Allen Township.

She told police she was sexually assaulted by two coworkers against her consent.

• A 30-year-old man from Slatington is the victim of a harassment by physical contact incident police were called to at 6:35 p.m. Oct. 16 at 6015 Wendel Court, Washington Township.

She told police someone struck her in the arm with a chair.
