Carbon County
Shepherd House, Inc., which has for years served as the lead agency to provide supplemental food assistance to low income individuals and families in Carbon County, oversees nine area food pantries in county communities.
The Rev. Stanley P. Haupt is the executive director of Shepherd House, which is based at 1067 Main Road, Lehighton; phone 610-377-6048; fax 610-379-5675; email bookworm@ptd.net. Office hours are Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The nine county pantries are as follows:
• Beaver Meadows: serves households in the borough and Packer Township and is located in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 19 Second St., Beaver Meadows.
Distributions take place on the third Saturday of each month from 1-2 p.m.

• Jim Thorpe: serves households in the Jim Thorpe School District and is located rear of Ned’s Cleaners, 104 Fern St., Jim Thorpe. Distributions take place on the second Saturday of each month from 9-11 a.m. For information, contact Randy McNear, 570-452-5114.
• Lansford: serves households in Lansford and is located in Trinity Lutheran Church, 104 E. Abbott St., Lansford. Distributions take place on the third Monday of each month from 7:30 a.m. to noon. For information, contact Richard Willing, 570-657-6159.
• Lehighton: serves households in Lehighton, Parryville and Weissport boroughs and Mahoning, Franklin and East Penn townships in the Lehighton Area School District, and is located in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., Lehighton. Distributions take place every Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on the third Tuesday of each month from 5:30-7:30 p.m. For information, contact Carolyn Long or Shirley Radler, 610-377-4303.
• Nesquehoning: serves households in Nesquehoning, Hauto and Lake Hauto and is located in Meed’s Memorial United Methodist Church, 126 W. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning. • Palmerton: serves households in Palmerton and Bowmanstown boroughs and Towamensing and Lower Towamensing townships and the Palmerton Area School District and is located in St. John’s Lutheran Church, 2915 Fireline Road, Palmerton.
Distributions take place on the second Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and on the fourth Friday of each month from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. For information, contact John DeSousa, 770-855-5015, or Susan Arner, 484-522-8899.

• Tresckow: serves households in Banks Township and is located in the Banks Township Municipal Building, Rear 1 E. Maple St., Tresckow. Distributions take place on the second Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to noon. For information, contact Betty Milore, 570-454-8209.
• Weatherly: serves households in Weatherly and East Side boroughs and Lausanne and Lehigh townships and is located in the Zion’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 335 Third St., Weatherly.

Monroe County
• Pleasant Valley Ecumenical Network, 2334 Route 209, Sciota, 570-992-3136 Pantry Hours: Tuesdays 9 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. and second Saturday of the month, 9 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. Eligibility: West End Residents - Hamilton, Polk, Jackson, Chestnuthill, Eldred, and Ross Townships.
Income guidelines apply - ID/Proof of residence required. Client must make an appointment no later than noon the day before distribution.
• Seed Of Faith Ministry, 1087 Scenic Drive/Route 534, Kunkletown, 610-951-4303. First and third Monday, 9:30 to 11 a.m. Bring own bags.
For residents of Saylorsburg, West End and Albrightsville only. Income guidelines apply.
ID and proof of residence required.
• West End Food Pantry, Eldred Community Center, 516 Kunkletown Road, Kunkletown, 570-730-6055.

Second and fourth Saturday, 10 a.m. to noon. Limited to 12 visits only.
Income guidelines apply. West End residents only.
Northern Lehigh
• Northern Lehigh Food Bank, 7884 Center St., Slatington, 610-767-9525.
Distribution on first, second and third Thursday of month, 4 to 6 p.m. and last Saturday of month 9:30 a.m. to noon, second and fourth Monday of the month from 1 to 3 p.m. Donations accepted Tuesdays, 9 a.m. to noon.
Schuylkill County
• Call Schuylkill Community Action for referral information at 570-622-1995, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Donations and monetary contribitions are welcome at pantries. No outdated food please. Please call ahead to doublecheck times.
