The driver of a tractor trailer escaped injury Tuesday morning in a crash at the intersection of the Morea and Burma roads just south of Mahanoy City. The crash occurred around 9:30 a.m. when the driver traveling west on the Morea Road attempted to make a left turn onto the Burma Road and rolled the truck onto its side. The rig was loaded with garbage on its way to a landfill along the Burma Road. State police at Frackville are investigating the incident.
