Mahoning Township is in search of a new township solicitor.
Applicants should submit written proposals to the Mahoning Township board of supervisors, 2175 Blakeslee Blvd. Drive West, Lehighton by Dec. 5.
The township attorney will be responsible for advising the board of supervisors and planning commission on all legal questions arising in the conduct of township business.
The township requires the service of a firm or individual that is able to provide legal advice on a variety of matters, including municipal law, municipal litigation and land use and zoning, Pennsylvania employment, personnel issues, Home Rule Law; demonstrated understanding and experience with the Municipalities Planning Code; land use (zoning, subdivision and building/property codes); labor relations; Pennsylvania Oil and Gas regulations and case law; the Pennsylvania Sunshine Act; and the Pennsylvania Right to Know Act.
The compensation of the township attorney will be fixed and based upon the three-year rate proposal submitted.
