LVHN Healthcare partner of the month: Lucas Versland

Lucas Versland, DO

Specialty: Internal Medicine

Location: LVPG Internal Medicine–Carbon, 2226 Blakeslee Blvd. Drive East, Lehighton

Philosophy of care: “I place an emphasis on preventive care and keeping patients healthy,” says Dr. Versland. When a health concern does arise, he wants to ensure his patients receive the information needed to make informed decisions that align with their personal health goals.

Services offered: As an internist, Dr. Versland offers a wide variety of primary care services for patients 16 years old and older including immunizations, A1C testing, flu shots, medication management, preventive care, wellness exams and illness or injury care.

Conditions treated: He treats many conditions such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), hyperlipidemia (high cholesterol), hypertension (high blood pressure), obesity, prediabetes and type 2 diabetes.

Why did he chose medicine as a career: An unfortunate condition causing spinal tumors gave Dr. Versland extensive exposure to the medical field from an early age. “My time as a patient led to an interest in medicine, and I later decided to enter the field as a physician,” he says.

About Dr. Versland: Dr. Versland enjoys mentoring. Outside of work he can be found tutoring, coaching youth sports and, most importantly, spending time with his two young children. He’s also a nature enthusiast and has a list of lakes throughout the country he hopes to visit.
