Saylorsburg man arrested for prowling around homes

A man detained by community members after allegedly prowling in Chestnuthill Township was arrested by state police from the Fern Ridge barracks.

Jeremy Robertson, 37, of Saylorsburg, was arrested after police responded to a loitering and prowling report in a neighborhood near Rising Hill Drive.

The matter was reported to police at 2:35 p.m. Oct. 23.

Police said a 40-year-old man from Saylorsburg reported a man was trespassing on properties of several residents, as shown by doorbell camera footage.

They said Robertson was identified and located with the assistance of multiple members of the community, who detained him.

Police said the footage shows him going door to door to properties, looking underneath doormats while holding a pocketknife in his hand. They said the blade of the knife was extended while he was trespassing on the properties.

After he was located, police found him in possession of the knife as well as several vape pens containing suspected THC cartridges, police said.

Robertson is charged with criminal trespass, possession of instruments of crime, loitering and prowling, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was committed to the Monroe County Correctional Facility, Snydersville.
