November 11, 1983 — Lehighton returns three interception for touchdowns to help end its season with a 47-0 Centennial League victory over Notre Dame. Rich Barilla accounts for two of the pick-sixes, racing 50 yards with one and 45 with the other. The Indians’ coached by Dave Parsons, also received a 35-yard interception return for a score from Howard Cooper. Scott Freeman rushes for a pair of TDs as Lehighton finishes the contest with 311 yards on the ground. Jody Mertz adds a 57-yard scoring run, while Robert Hartman also reaches the end zone from three yards out.
