Free Diapers

Diaper Depot, the free diaper ministry at Zion Lutheran Church in Tamaqua, is accepting new clients for its Nov. 15 free diaper distribution.

Request deadline is Nov. 12. Clients must live in the Tamaqua Area School District.

Diapers are for children ages newborn to 4 years, sizes NB to 3T-4T. A limited number of size 7 diapers are available.

Diapers are distributed by appointment Nov. 15. Appointments are assigned when requests are processed.

Requests can be filed on the Zion website at https://www.ziontamaqua.com/diaper-depot/ or on the Zion Facebook page.

Tamaqua Seniors

The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on Oct. 30 with 24 members present.

President Jean Machamer opened the meeting with the two songs performed by one member.

Refreshments were served. One member made the food.

The group chanced off a Wos-Wit jelly basket, which was won by a member. Another member distributed candy bars to all.

An auction will be held Dec. 11, and members are asked to bring a $10 gift.

The meeting closed and bingo was played.

The group meets at 1 p.m. Thursdays at the Coaldale Complex. Anyone 55 and older is invited.

Andreas VFW

Andreas VFW will meet at 7 p.m. Nov. 12 at the West Penn Annex.

St. Peter’s — West Penn

Veterans will be recognized at the 9 a.m. Sunday worship service at St. Peter’s Church in West Penn Township. There will be a joyous noise offering. Adult Sunday school is at 10:15 a.m. Filling orders are due Sunday.

Tuesday is the deadline for the December and January newsletter and calendar. The prayer group will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

On Nov. 13, the Cherub Choir rehearses at 6 p.m. and the Senior Choir rehearses at 7 p.m.

Zion Lewistown

Pastor Jim Williams will officiate the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Zion Church in Lewistown Valley. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.

Calvary Lewistown

Pastor Debra Rogers will bring the message at the 11 a.m. Sunday service at Calvary Evangelical Church in Lewisown. There will be special music. Sunday school is at 9:45 a.m. and the evening service is at 6:30 p.m.

The Wednesday prayer gathering will be held at 7 p.m.
