November 5, 1945 — Billy Faust scores a pair of touchdowns and Tamaqua uses a big second quarter to help gain a 32-6 victory over Blythe Township. The Blue Raiders, coached by Ken Millen, open the scoring in the first frame with a nine-play, 67-yard drive that is capped by Bob Schermer’s 1-yard plunge into the end zone. The winners extend the margin early in the second as Johnny Tuite tallies from two yards out. A blocked punt sets up Tamaqua’s next score — a 5-yard run by Bob Mohrbach. A turnover gives the Raiders good field position again and they capitalize when Faust scores from the five. Faust adds the final TD in the final period with a 4-yard run.
