Jim Thorpe area voting
Jim Thorpe Borough voters on Tuesday elected three people to serve four-year terms on the borough council.
Meanwhile, in the only other contested general election race in the Jim Thorpe area, two six-year terms on the Penn Forest Township Board of Supervisors were decided.
Jim Thorpe Borough
The winners in Jim Thorpe were Lyle Tony Augustine, Alice Ann Roberti, Joanne Klitsch and Thomas Chapman. Augustine and Roberti both tallied 979 votes, while Klitsch received 809 votes and Chapman, 807.
Losing out were, Alexander Lorkowski and Michael Allen Heffelfinger. Lorkowski had 478 votes, and Heffelfinger, 472 votes.
In unopposed borough balloting Tuesday, token votes were cast for the following:
Eric Cinicola, 956 votes for mayor; Patricia Spillman, 1,267 votes for tax collector; Adell Rosick, 176 votes for inspector of elections in the First Ward; Karen Lauth, 352 votes for judge of elections in the Third Ward; James T. Gilmore, 117 votes for judge of elections in the Fourth Ward; and Diane Luedtke, 237 votes for judge of elections in the Fifth Ward.
Penn Forest Township
The winners of six-year terms on the township’s board of supervisors were Christian Bartulovich and Brandon Bell. Bartulovich netted 1,305 votes, while Bell had 1,093. Losing out was Scott Lignore, who received 1,035 votes.
There was also a judge of elections race in the South/West District of the township. James Nelson won that race over Linda Sott by a difference of 308 votes to 288 votes.
In unopposed township balloting, token votes were cast for the following: Jordan Behrens, 2,130 votes for tax collector; and Stacy M. Venetos, 210 votes for judge of elections in the Middle District.
Kidder Township
There were no contested races in Kidder Township this time around.
Unopposed candidates who received token votes are Daniel Collins and Ellwood Zimmerman, who collected 207 and 316 votes, respectively, both for seats on the board of supervisors; Kim M. Ginopolas, 472 votes for tax collector; Lois J. Hammer, 119 votes for judge of elections in the North District; and Norma Wiegand, 118 votes for inspector of elections in the North District.
