Several people were injured Wednesday afternoon when involved in a crash in West Penn Township.

The crash occurred just before 5 p.m. in the area of 33 Sycamore Lane involving a garbage truck. The accident was reported with entrapment. The driver of the truck just was traveling south when he apparently lost control.

The unit crossed the roadway entering a wooded area rolling onto its side. The victims were treated at the scene by members of the Penn Mahoning ambulance and Lehighton paramedics before being transported to a nearby trauma center. West Penn township police are investigating the incident.
