Palmerton Cat Project to host event Saturday
The Palmerton Cat Project will host a craft and vendor event this weekend to help raise funds to pay for the cost of medical bills and supplies in caring for cats and kittens.
The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Aquashicola Fire Company in Palmerton.
There will be about 15 vendors, Sleepy Cat Urban Winery, Strohl’s Woodworking, blue ridge farms, pampered chef, furry tail creations, wreath vendor, crocheted items, homemade ornaments, laser and engraved resin work, charcuterie gift sets, snow globes and jewelry, Palmerton Cat Project new merchandise T-shirts, sweatshirts, and Gertrude Hawk Candy and lanyards, according to Stacy Goldberg, vice president, Palmerton Cat Project.
In addition, Goldberg said there will be a large basket raffle, 50/50 drawing, soup sale with nine different soups being sold in pint containers for takeout, and the kitchen will be opened.
“This event is important in raising monetary donations and supplies such as Purina Cat and Kitten Chow, litter, paper towels, garbage bags just some of the items off our wish list,” said Goldberg, who added they are a nonprofit organization that solely relies on donations and fundraising to pay for medical expenses and food to care for kittens and cats. “Anybody who brings an item from our wish list will be entered into a drawing for a lottery/gift card basket.”
Goldberg noted that money raised from the event goes to defer the cost of medical bills and supplies incurred by caring for cats and kittens, as well as TNR (trap and release) cats in feral colonies, which is important to prevent unwanted litters.
“I would like to thank all the vendors who are coming out to support the Palmerton Cat Project, and a thank you to all the supporters who donated items for the basket raffle,” she said. “Come and support Palmerton Cat Project and these vendors who support us; without community support we can’t help those kittens and cats in need.”
