Foundation welcomes Bowmanstown Rod & Gun Club Charitable Fund

The Bowmanstown Rod & Gun Club has established a new donor-advised fund at the Carbon County Community Foundation to extend its long-standing commitment to conservation, sportsmanship and community service.

The fund will allow the club to support local organizations through grants. To mark the launch, the club has already awarded its first grants to community-serving groups, including several local volunteer fire companies and the Carbon County Animal Shelter.

Founded in October 1920, the Bowmanstown Rod & Gun Club has spent more than a century promoting outdoor activities, conservation and education for both youth and adults. With the new charitable fund, the club is formalizing its philanthropic commitment to causes and organizations across Carbon County and beyond.

“Our club has always believed in giving back,” said Brandy Kresge, general manager of the Bowmanstown Rod & Gun Club. “With this charitable fund, we have a way to make a lasting impact, not only through our work with sportsmen and conservation but also by supporting the people and organizations that make our community strong.”

A donor-advised fund is a flexible charitable giving account that allows donors — in this case, the Bowmanstown Rod & Gun Club — to recommend grants to nonprofits and community projects that align with their mission and values.

By establishing the fund with the Carbon County Community Foundation, the club benefits from professional management and administration, making it simple to give back to the community in impactful ways.

“The Bowmanstown Rod & Gun Club has a rich history of supporting conservation, outdoor recreation and youth education, and now they are taking the next step by building a charitable fund,” said Sharon Alexander, president of the Carbon County Community Foundation. “We’re excited to help them carry out their charitable goals, making it easy for them to give back to the community they’ve been a part of for more than 100 years.”

Anyone is welcome to contribute to the Bowmanstown Rod & Gun Club Charitable Fund. Donations can be made securely online at www.cccfoundpa.org or by contacting the foundation at 610-730-2526.

The Carbon County Community Foundation was formed in 2016 with the mission to improve the quality of life for all Carbon County residents, now and forever. The organization does so by offering individuals, families and businesses the most effective charitable giving tools available in the marketplace today, combining that with expertise in philanthropic planning, nonprofit sector issues and community priorities.

Since 2016, the charitable funds at the foundation have cumulatively awarded more than $1.3 million in grants and scholarships to nonprofit and community organizations, teachers, schools and students in Carbon County.
