A man was seriously injured Sunday afternoon in a tree cutting accident in West Penn Township. The incident occurred at 2:20 p.m. near 34 Fort Franklin Road.

The victim was treated at the scene by members of the Penn Mahoning ambulance and Lehighton paramedics before being flown from the scene by LifeFlight 6 to a Lehigh Valley area trauma center. West Penn fire company responded to the scene helping with the patient and setting up a landing site at the intersection of Fort Franklin road and Blue Mountain Drive. West Penn police are investigating the incident.
