November 1, 1969 — Pete Susko collects 301 rushing yards and scores four touchdowns as Jim Thorpe overwhelms Hamburg by a 60-0 score. Susko reaches the end zone on runs of 74, 64, 33 and two yards. The Olympians, who lead 24-0 at halftime and pull away in the second half, finish with 530 total yards of offense — including 443 on the ground. Walt Schlenner adds a scoring run of seven yards and also tosses a 35-yard TD pass to Kowatch. Other Thorpe players to reach the end zone are Joe Micko (47 run) and Mueller (22 run). The Olympian defense holds Hamburg to just 91 total yards and forces three turnovers.
