Attractions

• The Electrifying Jack-O-Lantern Experience, a Halloween-themed festival at the West End Fairgrounds, features hand-carved pumpkins, food trucks and fire pits. It is open Thursday through Saturday at the fairgrounds, 570 Fairground Road, Gilbert. Tickets online only: www.electrifyingjackolanterns.com.

• Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom Halloween Haunt runs through Sunday. This year’s Halloween Haunt features seven haunted mazes, five immersive scare zones, thrilling rides like Iron Menace and Steel Force under the stars, seasonal food and beverages, and live entertainment. Recommended for ages 13 and older, with bonus Sunday on Nov. 2. Located at 3830 Dorney Park Road, Allentown.

Trunk or treats

• The Hometown Volunteer Fire Department will host a trunk or treat at 5 p.m. on Friday at the 45 Mahanoy Ave. (Route 54) station. Anyone wishing to participate with a vehicle should text 570-952-5383.

• Trinity Lutheran Church will welcome trick-or-treaters Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the church on104 E. Abbott St., Lansford.

• Trick-or-treat night in Beaver Meadows will be held Friday from 6-8 p.m. throughout the borough.

The Beaver Meadows Citizens for Recreation will host a free Spooky Stroll through Harmony Hall during trick-or-treat hours, featuring a mad scientist, fortune teller, undertaker and more.

At the same time, the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Over 60s Group will sponsor a trunk-or-treat event in the church parking lot on Second Street.

• Mahoning Valley Fire Company pre-trick-or-treat event, 4-6 p.m. Friday. Free hot dog, pierogies, cotton candy, popcorn and drink for costumed children under 13. Food available to purchase for adults. To host a trunk, call 610-554-9241.

• Lehighton Area Lionness Lions Club is hosting a trunk or treat from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Lehighton Boys and Girls Band Hall. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be held indoors. After checking out each trunk, children can venture inside for a free hot dog and beverage.
