Mrs. Ethel Kitchen was installed for her second term as president of the Upper Carbon County Council of Republican Women when the group met in joint session with the Weatherly Area Republican Committee at the Weatherly American Legion Post Home.

Other officers installed were Mrs. Doris Sturtevant, vice president; Mrs. Alberta Richie, treasurer; and Mrs. Joann McCay, secretary.

Mrs. Marie E. Mayer, vice chairman of the county committee, was the installing officer.

Honored by presentation of a letter signed by Gov. Raymond P. Shafer was Mrs. Gertrude Smith, who for more than 40 years was a committeewoman in the Eastern District of Packer Township.
