Steinberg to perform Sunday in Lehighton
A renowned 4-foot, 6-inch dynamo who commands the stage utilizing a myoelectric prosthetic arm, unyielding spirit and a life-changing message will grace the stage at a Lehighton area church.
Jeff Steinberg, whose message, “You’re A Masterpiece in Progress!”, will perform at 6 p.m. Sunday at St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 222 Church St., North Weissport/Lehighton.
Born without arms and with severely impacted legs, Steinberg has transformed perceived limitations into a platform for inspiration, proving that no dream is too big and no challenge too great.
Guided by Psalm 139:14 — “I am made to be awesome and wonderful!!” — he inspires audiences worldwide to embrace their unique purpose and unleash their potential.
For over five decades, Steinberg has shared his story of overcoming adversity across the globe.
His mantra, “The difficult we do right away; the impossible takes a little longer,” reflects his refusal to be defined by challenges. He inspires audiences to see disabilities as assets, proclaiming, “A real ‘handicap’ is anything that keeps you from becoming all you were created to be.”
From TV variety shows and telethons to sharing stages with icons like Zig Ziglar, Pat Boone, Joni Eareckson Tada, and even Mother Teresa during her 1989 U.S. visit — a career highlight — Steinberg’s presence is unforgettable.
He’s headlined the President’s Council on Hiring Persons with Disabilities luncheon, performed for schools, universities (including Notre Dame), U.S. and UK prisons, and U.S. military troops in Europe. He has co-hosted the TV special, The Best You Can Be: The Handicapped Hall of Fame, showcased his ability to uplift and inspire on a grand scale.
Steinberg’s passion extends to advocacy, offering expert consulting on disability and accessibility to create real change because, “it’s not enough to just know the rules!” Honored as the 13th inductee into The Good Shepherd Hall of Fame for Persons with Disabilities, he was celebrated for his music and tireless championing of the physically challenged.
A three-time recipient of the Arts Music Guild Heritage Award for Comedian of the Year (2024, 2019, 2015), Steinberg’s humor and heart shine through in every performance.
His music, including albums “Masterpiece in Progress”and “Tiny Giant,” and his concert video “Live In Concert: A celebration — 25 Years” (on his GlovePRINTS label) brings his message to life. His autobiography, Masterpiece In Progress, now in its fifth printing through GlovePRINTS Press, is available globally in paperback and audiobook formats, and is also available on Kindle, iBooks and Audible.
His electrifying performances blend music, humor and inspiration, leaving audiences uplifted, empowered.

Steinberg said that after he graduated from Allen High School, he lived for a time in Jim Thorpe and attended a church in Lehighton.
“I’ve known (the Rev.) Mike Frost (St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church) for a number of years; he went to college with an associate of mine,” Steinberg said. “I sang for him when he was at a different church, known him for many years.”
