James B. Nothstein of Lehighton was honored at a testimonial dinner held in his honor at the American Legion Post Home, Lehighton, hosted by the Legionnaires.

Nothstein has been active in local, county, district and state Legion organizations, and is a member and past chairman of the Lehighton United Veterans Organization and the current chairman of the Carbon County Veteran’s Day Parade Committee.

He is a World War II veteran and a recipient of the Purple Heart, having served with the U.S. Marine Corps in the Pacific Theater of Operations.

Among the awards presented to him is a life membership to the American Legion, which was presented by post commander Robert L. Remaley.
