Joseph Lockwood, Tresckow, Banks Township, was elected president of the Carbon County Township Association Officers during the 53rd annual convention held last evening at the Lehighton American Legion Post Home.

Associate officers who were elected are Harold Hamm, Lehighton R. 3, Towamensing Township; Kenneth Detweiler, Lake Harmony, Kidder Township; and Morgan Kemmerer, Ashfield, East Penn Township.

The nominating committee was headed by William James, Palmerton R. 1, Towamensing Township.

Detweiler and James were named delegates to the state convention of township supervisors to be held in Pittsburgh in February.
