LVHN: Healthcare partner of the month
Noel Brouse, DO
Specialty: Family Medicine
Location: LVPG Family Medicine–Palmerton, 528 Delaware Ave.
Philosophy of care: Dr. Noel Brouse views his patients as an extension of his family and treats them as such.
“I try to make the patient feel comfortable in my presence, which makes it easier for the patient to be a partner in their care. I pride myself on taking the time necessary to address their issues,” Dr. Brouse says.
While preventive care is his focus, if a disease or illness is identified, he uses up-to-date, evidence-based therapies as treatments. He also enjoys treating generations of families, which allows him to identify unique issues that may affect family members.
Services offered: As a primary care physician, Dr. Brouse offers a wide variety of services for infants to adults including immunization, rapid flu and strep testing, physicals, well- and sick-visits, chronic condition care and pain management.
Conditions treated: He treats a host of conditions including diabetes, heart disease, abdominal disorders, acne, allergies, joint pain, neuropathy, foot and ankle injuries, sports injuries and ear disorders. Dr. Brouse also treats illnesses, such as respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and croup, infections like Lyme disease, pediatric diseases, and women’s health.
Why did he chose medicine as a career: Dr. Brouse always enjoyed science class in school and attended college to become a chemist, but his experiences growing up in rural Schuylkill County changed his direction. He realized he could better use his academic talents as a physician in an underserved area.
“Family medicine allows me to make a difference in many people’s lives and brings me personal satisfaction. The highest honor I have is when a patient chooses me to be their physician,” Dr. Brouse says.
About Dr. Brouse: Raised in the farming community of Ringtown, Schuylkill County, Dr. Brouse worked in his family’s business where he learned hard work and the importance of sacrificing for others.
He attended North Schuylkill High School and graduated with a chemistry degree from King’s College in Wilkes-Barre. He attended medical school in Philadelphia.
Dr. Brouse says he married the “love of my life” and together they have three children.
“I am intimately involved with my family and community. I coached youth sports and cheered on my children from the sidelines in high school and college athletics,” Dr. Brouse says.
He enjoys outdoor activities including camping in his RV, bicycling local trails, kayaking and boating on local lakes and streams.
