Turnpike crashes

State police at the Pocono barracks reported the following accidents that happened on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike:

• No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 9:59 p.m. Oct. 10 at mile marker 67.5 in Washington Township.

Police said it happened when Kyle E. Horner, 29, of Leesport, was driving a 2016 Ford 350 when he attempted to make a U-turn, entering the roadway from an access gate, at which time the vehicle struck a 2017 Subaru Outback driven by Adam J. Sadvary, 29, of Wilkes-Barre.

Police said the Outback was towed from the scene.

• Raymond Remchak, 61, of Luzerne, was cited for careless driving after a one-vehicle mishap at 8:52 a.m. Oct. 10 at mile marker 86.3 in Penn Forest Township. He was uninjured in the incident.

Police said he was driving a 2018 Freightliner in the Hickory Run Service Plaza parking lot when it struck concrete pylons next to a fuel pump.

• Franchesca B. Rodriguez, 34, of Lehighton, was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 6:15 a.m. Oct. 8 at mile marker 62.2 in North Whitehall Township.

Police said she was transported by personnel from the Cetronia Ambulance Corps to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest Campus, Salisbury Township.

They said she was driving a 2023 Hyundai Tucson southbound when it traveled off the right side of the road and struck an embankment, after which time it spun around and flipped onto its roof.

Police said the vehicle was towed from the scene.

Rodriguez was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed.

• No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at mile marker 84.7 in Penn Forest Township at 7 p.m. Oct. 6.

Police said it happened when David C. Confair, 57, of Williamsport, was driving a 2019 Toyota Rav4 northbound when he swerved the vehicle to avoid striking debris that was in his lane of travel. The Rav4 sideswiped a 2018 Land Rover driven by Theodore J. Catino, 62, of Drums.

Police said the Land Rover had to be towed from the scene.
