State police at Hazleton - crashes

State police at the Hazleton barracks reported the following accidents:

• Isaiah D. Dumbaugh, 32, of Albrightsville, was cited following a one-vehicle crash at 5:33 a.m. Oct. 14 on Interstate 80 in Nescopeck Township. He was not injured.

Police said he was driving a 2005 Volkswagen Beetle westbound and was traveling too fast for conditions when he lost control of the vehicle. It left the roadway and struck the guide rail, becoming stuck underneath it.

The car had disabling damages and was towed from the scene.

* David Ehrenfried, 87, of Weatherly, had minor injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 12:55 p.m. Oct. 6 on the Buck Mountain Road in Lehigh Township.

Police said he was transported by personnel from the White Haven Rescue Squad to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton.

Police said he was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze westbound when he failed to negotiate a curve in the road. The car went off the north side of the road and struck a utility pole.

The car was towed from the scene.

Police said Ehrenfried was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.

* Francisco A. Lora, 51, of Hazleton, and Arnaldo Marquez Hernandez, 47, of Tresckow, was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 3:48 p.m. Oct. 3 on the Green Mountain Road in Hazle Township.

Police said they were transported by personnel from the Lehigh Valley Health Network EMS corps to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton.

They said the crash happened when Lora was driving a 2014 Acura that struck the rear of a 2004 Toyota Sienna driven by Marquez Hernandez after the latter had stopped in traffic.

Police said both vehicles had disabling damages and was towed from the scene.

They said Lora was cited for following too closely and Marquez Hernandez was cited for “unlawful activities,” having operated a vehicle with unsafe equipment.
