Students from the Palmerton Area School District’s junior and senior high school who for years rode bus No. 5 to and from school presented a wooden plaque in memory of bus driver Clinton “Boopy” Hagenbuch to school district officials just weeks after the driver passed.
Close to 50 students on his bus “chipped in” to purchase the plaque in memory of their beloved bus driver. The plaque will be hung in the high school lobby.
On the plaque is a large photo of Hagenbuch standing with his bus with a glowing smile on his face.
He drove for more than 40 years, the majority of them with Leon George Buses, and was set to retire in December.
