Tamaqua Seniors

The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on Oct. 9 with 25 members present.

President Jean Machamer opened the meeting. A member read the invocation, “Running Life’s Race.”

A member won an ice cream basket that was donated by another member and chanced off.

A member donated pumpkin cupcakes. Refreshments were served and the meeting closed. Bingo and cards were played.

The group meets at 1 p.m. Thursdays at the Coaldale Complex. Anyone 55 and older is invited.

Calvary Lewistown

Pastor Deb will bring the message and sing a solo for the special music at the 11 a.m. Sunday service at Calvary Evangelical Church in Lewistown. Sunday school is at 9:45 a.m. There will be no Sunday evening service.

The Wednesday prayer and share meets at 7 p.m. All are welcome to all services.

There will be a happy pumpkin carving party at the Lewistown Valley Tabernacle at 2 p.m. Saturday. Pumpkins will be provided. Come with a happy picture or thought you would like to carve or paint.

St. Peter’s — West Penn

The Sunday worship service at St. Peter’s Church in West Penn Township is at 9 a.m. Children will be dismissed after Children’s Time for Sunday school. Adult Sunday school is at 10:15 a.m., and the Church Board meets at 10:30 a.m.

The WASP group meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Apple dumpling orders can be picked up between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Oct. 23.

Rush-Ryan-Delano Seniors

The Rush, Ryan and Delano Senior citizens met on Oct. 14 with 35 members present.

Vice President Jayne McLaughlin opened the meetings. The invocation, “My Prayer,” was read.

Three members are celebrating October birthdays. One member won a pumpkin tree that was chanced off. Another member won a harvest floral arrangement that was chanced off.

Refreshments were served. Two members brought in food.

The Christmas party will be held at noon on Dec. 9 at Christ Church in Barnesville. Catering will be by Hess Catering of Schuylkill Haven.

Bingo was played and the meeting was closed.

The next meeting will be held at 1 p.m. on Oct. 28 at Christ Church in Barnesville.

Zion Lewistown

Pastor Jim Williams will officiate the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Zion Church in Lewistown Valley. Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m.

The next episode of “The Chosen” will be shown at 2 p.m. Sunday.

Trinity UCC

Trinity United Church of Christ, 22 Lafayette St., Tamaqua will be having an indoor vendor sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 25.

The church is currently looking for vendors and crafters.

Set up will be at 2.30 p.m. on Oct. 24 or 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 25. Table and chairs will be provided for each vendor.

Rummage giveaway

A free rummage sale giveaway will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at St. John UCC, 150 Pine St., Tamaqua. Monetary donations are always appreciated.
