State police at Bethlehem - crashes

State police at the Bethlehem barracks reported the following crashes:

• Police said the driver of a 2014 Subaru Forester, whom they did not identify, was cited after a three-vehicle crash at 2:54 p.m. Sept. 29 on Route 309 in Heidelberg Township. No one was injured in the incident.

They said the vehicle entered the highway from a gas station driveway without proper clearance and struck a 2025 Hyundai Tucson that was southbound. The impact, police said, caused the Forester to strike a 2012 Ford Econoline that was stopped in the northbound lane.

Police said the Forester had front and back-end damage; the Tucson had damage to its entire side and front and rear bumpers; and the Econoline had damage to its driver’s side door and driver’s side utility box.

• Police investigated a hit-and-run that was reported to them at midnight Sept. 28 on Mountain Road, Washington Township.

They said a vehicle veered off the road and struck rocks at the end of a driveway in the 3800 block of Mountain Road, hit a mailbox and then traveled over a lawn in the 3900 block of Mountain Road before fleeing.

• Police said Lori A. McGinley, 50, of Germansville, and Jessica Bonilla, 45, of Bethlehem, were injured in a two-vehicle crash at 7:05 a.m. Sept. 22 at the intersection of routes 100 and 309 in Heidelberg Township.

Police said McGinley was transported by personnel from the Northern Valley ambulance to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest Campus, Salisbury Township. Bonilla had “possibly injury” but was not transported from the scene, police said.

They said the crash occurred as McGinley was driving a 2024 Kia westbound on Route 309 when she pulled out in front of a 2016 Honda operated eastbound on Route 309 by Bonilla. Police said the Honda hit the Kia in its passenger side. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

McGinley was cited after the crash, according to police.

• Preston J. Muth, 18, of Northampton, was cited for following too closely and failure to drive at a safe speed after a two-vehicle crash at 4:24 a.m. Sept. 13 on Nor-Bath Boulevard, Lehigh Township.

Police said he was driving a 2020 Toyota Camry that hit the back of a 2017 Dodge Ram truck operated by Terry L. Bowman, 58, of Slatington. Bowman was uninjured.

Police said Muth was transported by personnel from the Northampton Regional ambulance to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg Campus, Bethlehem.
