Fall events
• Christ Evangelical Free Church annual fall harvest fair for kids ages 3 years old to sixth grade will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 22. Games, snacks and candy. The community is invited. Christ Evangelical Free Church is located at 2420 Blakeslee Blvd Dr. W, Lehighton.
• Chestnuthill Parks and Recreation, Fourth Annual Halloween Spooktacular will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday. Rain date is Oct. 25. This community event offers family-friendly autumn activities, at Chestnuthill Park, Route 715, Brodheadsville. Past events have included tractor hay rides, pumpkin painting, food trucks, games, a trunk-or-treat, and a kids’ costume contest.
• Cornerstone Community Church fall harvest festival and trunk or treat, 1 to 3 p.m. on Oct. 25 at the church, 388 Polk Township Road, Kunkletown (Kresgeville). Games, crafts, face painting, inflatable VBS character relay race, free food, story walk more. Bring a donation for Operation Christmas Child and get a free bake sale item.
Halloween parades
• Lehighton Halloween parade, 4:15 p.m. Saturday.
• Palmerton Halloween parade Sunday, beginning at 4 p.m.
• The 30th annual Jim Thorpe Lions Club Halloween Parade will be held on Oct. 25. The parade begins at 2 p.m. lineup starts at 1 p.m. at the Jim Thorpe High School. The rain date for the parade is Oct. 26. Registration deadline for the parade is Oct. 20. Call 570-325-4104 for more information.
• The Northern Lehigh Halloween Parade will be at 5 p.m. on Oct. 25, parade route includes the Northern Lehigh campus and surrounding areas. Registration is open, text 484-619-0140 or email nlhalloweenparade@yahoo.com to have a registration form sent to you.
• Weatherly Area Community Chest’s annual Halloween Parade will be on Oct. 25. Registration starts at 1 p.m. at Tweedle Park on High Street and parade begins at 2 p.m. Participants should not park in the area in front of the park. Rain date is Oct. 26. Questions should be directed to Mary Rose Minnick at 570-427-8865.
• Tamaqua Halloween Parade, 7 p.m. on Oct. 28. Parade participants begin line up on the east end of the borough. The procession will travel on East Broad Street to West Broad Street. It will end in the area of West Broad and Swatara streets.
Halloween parties
• The Tamaqua Public Library, 30 S. Railroad St., is hosting a Halloween party from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Oct 24.
The children’s event will have trick-or-treat fun, fresh popcorn, movie time, spooky fun activities and more. Children should come in their favorite costume. Visit the library or call 570-668-4660 to register.
• American Hose Co #1 Tamaqua, 7 to 11 p.m. Oct. 25. Music by Roadhouse Lou (AK VIP DJ). Food Available, Costume Contest (costume encouraged, but not required), Cash Bar, open to the public.
Trunk or treats
• Polk Township Fire Company Trunk or Treat will be on Oct. 27. Costumed kids and their families will go around collecting candy and treats.
• Kinsley’s Shoprite Spooktacular, 3 to 5 p.m. on Oct. 26, arts and crafts, face painting, pony rides, treat bags, costume contest. 107 Kinsley Drive, Brodheadsville.
• Trunk or Treat will be held this year at the Nesquehoning Recreation Center. It will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Oct. 26.
• The Hometown Volunteer Fire Department will host a trunk-or-treat at 5 p.m. on Oct. 31 at the 45 Mahanoy Ave. (Route 54) station. Anyone wishing to participate with a vehicle should text 570-952-5383.
• Trunk or treat will be held at the park from 1 to 3 p.m. on Oct. 26 in Rush Township. There will be prizes for the best decorated vehicle and pumpkin decorating for the kids. Sign up on the Township’s Facebook page or website if decorating a car.
• Dress up the kids and enjoy a safe, festive night of trick-or-treating at Heritage Hill Senior Community on Friday from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Oct. 24, at 800 Sixth St., Weatherly. For more info, call Rachael at 570-427-4500 or email rtimm@heritagehillsenior.com.
• Penn Forest Trunk or treat will be held at the park from 1 to 3 p.m. Oct. 26. There will be prizes for the best decorated vehicle and pumpkin decorating for the kids. Sign up on the township Facebook page or website if decorating a car.
• Trunk or Treat at the East Penn Township Community Center, 403 Blue Mountain Road. Ashfield, trunk or treat, 4 to 6 p.m. on Oct. 25. Residents are encouraged to set up in the parking lot, no registration required. The Community Center will be open to Trick or Treaters and offering free concessions and activities.
• Forest Hills Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, free trunk-or-treat event and the public is invited to attend this Halloween celebration, Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m., in the parking lot of the skilled nursing facility at 1000 Evergreen Ave., in Weatherly.
The Halloween-themed activities will feature decorated car trunks where Forest Hills RHC staff, many in costume, will hand out candy for the trick-or-treaters. In addition, free snacks such as cider, popcorn, and chips will be available for the visiting children and their families. Everyone is encouraged to bring a bag, pillowcase, or pumpkin basket to collect treats.
