Coaldale will remove banners

Veterans’ banners that are hanging on Coaldale streets will be removed after Veterans Day.

If they’re in bad shape, then the families who purchased them will be contacted.

“We’re going to go through everything here,” council President Claire Remington said.

The banners will be inspected to make sure the veterans’ images are not faded.

If they are, Remington said, families will be contacted to see if they’d like the banners returned.

When banners were placed on street poles earlier this year, some were upset that they were extremely faded.

The illegible banners are several years old. The average lifespan is about 2 years, it was noted at a recent meeting.
