State Police at Frackville -crashes

State police at the Frackville barracks reported the following crashes:

• Luc Philippe, 64, of Gatineau, Quebec, Canada, was injured in a motorcycle crash at 6:40 p.m. Oct. 11 on Route 54 (Vulcan Hill) in Mahanoy Township.

Police said he was transported by personnel from the Ryan Township Emergency and Rescue Squad to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-East, Pottsville.

Police said he was operating a 2007 Harley Davidson east when it struck a piece of debris in his lane of travel. The cycle began to slide and Philippe lost control of it, laying it on its left side. The cycle sustained functional damages.

• Eloiso Pena Pineda, 43, of Mahanoy City, was involved in a one-vehicle crash at 1:40 a.m. Oct. 12 on the Tuscarora Mountain Road in Ryan Township.

Police said he was driving a 2011 Acura northbound when it left the right side of the road and struck a tree. They said the car sustained disabling damages and had to towed from the scene.

• Richard Santos, 35, of Silver Spring, Maryland, was involved in a one-vehicle crash at 8:12 a.m. Sept. 28 on Interstate 80 in Ryan Township.

Police said he was transported by personnel from the Ryan Township Emergency and rescue Squad to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-East, Pottsville.

He was driving a 2006 Toyota Corolla when it came upon a deceased deer in the middle of the road. Police said Santos attempted to avoid striking the deer, went off the road and overturned.
