In recognition of their 25-year commitment to others, Hope and Harold Sthare of Lehighton were honored by the Lehighton Rotary Club.

The presentation of an impressive wooden plaque with engraved brass nameplates and a check to be used to further their work with the Carbon County Red Cross Chapter, was made during the club’s regular monthly meeting.

Harold Sthare’s involvement in community service began in 1950, after which time Hope joined him in serving in many capacities in behalf of the community. In addition to their longtime service to the Red Cross, the couple has been involved in activities of the Lions Club, Meals on Wheels, Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church and other organizations in town.
