The Weatherly boys soccer and Northwestern volleyball teams both posted victories on Friday.

BOYS SOCCER

Weatherly erupted for five first-half goals and held off a late surge from Lincoln Leadership Academy to post a 5-3 non-league victory.

Jeremiah Donadi opened the scoring for the Wreckers off an assist from Corbin Wagner, who added a goal of his own later in the half on a feed from Shawn Gerlick. Jameson Delauretis converted a pass from Donadi, and Josh Almanzar scored off another assist from Wagner before an own goal — also set up by Wagner — gave Weatherly a commanding 5-0 lead at the break.

Goalkeepers Noah Mayernick and Emilio Valenzuela each recorded one save for the Wreckers.

Northwestern

Northwestern closed out the regular season with its fifth consecutive victory, sweeping Pen Argyl in straight sets, 25-12, 25-8, 25-20, in Colonial League action.

Daisy Stringer led the Tigers with 14 kills and 10 digs, while Leah Nagle added 11 kills and eight digs. Kayla Schaffer contributed 29 assists and 11 digs in the victory.

Northwestern will gear up for the Colonial League tournament on Tuesday, where the second-seeded Tigers will face No. 3 Saucon Valley at Catasauqua at 7 p.m. in the semifinals.

Abby Weston led the Wreckers with 14 assists, seven service points, and four digs. Abigail Binder added four kills and six digs, while Kelly Reiner contributed six points, an ace, and five digs.
