State police at Bethlehem - crashes

State police at the Bethlehem barracks reported the following crashes:

• Jacquelyn M. Cudzil, 43, of Slatington, was cited for careless driving after a one-vehicle crash at 7:43 a.m. on Sept. 23 on Old Post Road in North Whitehall Township. She was uninjured in the crash.

Police said she was driving a 2020 Kia Sorento eastbound when it left the road and struck a guide rail. It continued across both lanes of travel and then hit an embankment.

The vehicle was towed from the scene.

• Police responded to a hit-and-run crash at 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 20 on Old Grange Road, Washington Township.

They said a vehicle traveling south hit a mailbox in the 6900 block of Old Grange Road and then left the scene.

• Police said Derek Lavenburg, 20, of Slatington, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after a one-vehicle crash at 11:50 p.m. on Sept. 9 on West Main Street in Bath.

Police said he was operating a 2024 Suzulight at the time. They said he fled the scene on foot, but was located and taken into custody without incident.

He was then transported by personnel from the Bethlehem Township Volunteer Fire Company ambulance to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg Campus, Bethlehem, to be treated for suspected minor injuries.

The vehicle was towed from the scene.

• Jane Rotondo, 48, of Slatington, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance after a crash at 1:27 a.m. on July 12 at the intersection of Old Post Road and Mauch Chunk Road in North Whitehall Township.

Police said she was driving a Hyundai Sonata. After police detected an odor of alcohol on her breath, she was taken into custody.

• Patrick Jasinski, 25, of Effort, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance after a three-vehicle crash at 2:52 a.m. on June 26 on Route 22 in Hanover Township.

Police said victims of the incident are a 45-year-old Hatfield man, a 28-year-old Allentown man and a 49-year-old Effort woman.

Involved in the crash were a 2025 Mazda, a 2022 Honda and a 2014 Mercury. No details of the crash were provided.
