Polk Township supervisors conducted the following business:
• Continued a hearing for Blue Sail Investments LLC’s proposed boat and RV self-storage facility until at 6 p.m. on Oct. 27.
Blue Sail is submitting plans for the former Cramer’s building on Route 534 and Beltzville Drive.
• The township’s fire company reported 18 emergencies in September, bringing the year-to-date total to 177. Members also logged 76 training hours and 123 hours of fundraising. A community picnic is planned for Sept. 27 at the park.
• Supervisors announced receipt of funding from a 902 grant applied for in 2023, which will reimburse costs for a forklift, trash containers, and paving at the Solid Waste and Recycling Center.
• Other actions included approving a letter of support for Eldred Township’s historical society Local Shae Account grant and authorizing the zoning office to purchase an iPad for field use with new software.
•. A veterans memorial ceremony is set for Nov. 11 at noon.
• Time extensions were granted until Oct. 27 for the Schoenberger and Doo Rae subdivisions.
• A hearing to appoint a constable is scheduled for Oct. 15 at 3 p.m. at Monroe County Courthouse.
