Chairpersons of the 1981-1982 Palmerton Area Community Chest Campaign that has a goal of $16,400 were announced by committee members.

Robert Steele will chair the upcoming drive and will be assisted by Jody Rogowitz.

Ed Lynch will serve as chairman of the Mail Drive, and will be assisted by Gerry Dorshimer, while Dr. Howard Cyr will be in charge of the Professional Division.

Eleven organizations are beneficiaries of the chest drive, including: Palmerton Library, Meals on Wheels of Palmerton, Palmerton Visiting Nurse Association, Palmerton Ambulance Association, Girl Scouts, Great Valley Girl Scout Council, Boy Scouts, Minsi Trail Council, Over 60 Club, Palmerton Band, Carbon Chapter of the PA Association for Retarded Citizens, U.S.O. and the Carbon County Crippled Children and Adults.
