Lehighton Cold Weather Station statistics
During the winter 2024-2025, the Lehighton Cold Weather Station was open when temperatures reached 25 degrees or below.
It was open for 73 nights, from 5:30 p.m. to 10 a.m., and 18 days, from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The Lehighton Cold Weather Station served 53 people, including 36 men and 17 women.
On its busiest night, it slept 22 people.
Most of its guests have lived in Carbon County for over five years.
The Lehighton Cold Weather Station is 100 percent volunteer staffed and donation funded.
There were 42 unsheltered guests, 12 of which were over the age of 55, 20 with serious mental health issues, and 32 with substance abuse issues.
Emergency shelter

• 59 people chaperoned (including 18 shift leads).
• 56 people prepared meals.
• More than 300 people donated supplies/clothing/linens, etc.
• 43 individuals/organizations donated cash.
• 100 percent donation funded, no government funding.
Day program
• Started the last week of June.
• Open three days a week for five hours each day.
• Offering showers, laundry and lunch.
• Served 57 people (as of Aug. 22, 2025).
• Averaged 15 people per day.
• Served 24 people on its busiest day.
• Attendance increased, with new faces every week.
• Served 46 male guests, 17 of whom were over the age of 55; 38 of whom are long-term Carbon County residents; 27 attended five-plus times; 8 attended 15-plus times; 25 utilized emergency shelter.
