Weatherly center plans Oct. events

The River Run Center for the Healing Arts will be hosting two community events this month.

The first is a fun community walk with friends, family and friendly dogs Oct. 25 at 8:30 a.m. along the trails in Rockport, encouraging people to move and enjoy the beauty and nature in this area.

The second is the third annual Pumpkin Power Palloza, a free fitness class using pumpkins instead of weights at the center at 3907 Buck Mountain Road, Weatherly.

The class, which is Oct. 28 at 5:45 p.m., is open to anyone and any fitness level. The center’s annual costume party is the same night, and prizes will be awarded.

“Movement should be joyful,” said owner Amanda Neidlinger. “If someone leaves smiling and feeling better, then we’ve done our job.”

The center is planning to do monthly community outreach, she said.
